Projects / Better Than Watching Grass Grow

Better Than Watching Grass Grow

The project will have two overall general aims , to restore and maintain habitats through grazing and to educate and engage local communities.
The project will restore habitats by managing nature reserves across the Greater Manchester Wetlands using populations of rare breed conservation grazing animals,it will allow the Trust to expand it’s existing livestock so that they can be used on and moved onto different wetland habitats at appropriate times allowing greater control over the grazing both in terms of duration and species.
The Conservation Grazing Officer will work with the volunteer speaker team, general volunteers, reserve staff and the education team to engage with adult and young people’s groups as well as schools across the region to promote involvement with the wetland reserves.
