Bio-diversity Bonanza

During the past two and a half years BTCV Rochdale Green Gym members have developed into a team that is dedicated to improving their local environment. The project would involve local volunteers removing invasive species at sites in Rochdale. Species such as Japanese Knotweed and Himalayan Balsam and replacing with native woodland species such as Red Campion and Wood Avens. Training will be given on site and involve the group learning how to safely deal with Knotweed and Balsam. They will also be shown how and why we sow seeds after the work has been completed
