Projects / Biodiversity boost for Pulborough Brooks

Biodiversity boost for Pulborough Brooks

The project will provide a step change in the biodiversity performance of wet grassland in the Arun Valley. Improvement of the landscape will benefit a suite of associated species including: breeding waders, eels, amphibians, a rare species of snail, bats and ditch flora. Pulborough Brooks is currently performing poorly for wader breeding success compared with other wetland sites. This essential work will improve grazing marsh features & remove predator threats, increasing the chicks’ chances of survival into adulthood, expanding the breeding population. We would see increased climate change resilience for multiple species and a reduction in non-native invasive plant species.
