Birches Farm Heritage Project

Birches Farm is an historic, biodiverse and intrinsically beautiful nature reserve nestling in The Marches. The farm is an excellent example of the vernacular buildings ranging from the 18th century onwards with 14 contiguous fields that extend to 60 acres. These fields are surrounded by exceptionally thick, established and diverse hedgerows and mature trees providing an oasis of wildlife. This project will improve biodiversity at the reserve through direct management with livestock and volunteers and using traditional skills.
