Birk Crag Centre North Yorkshire Guiding

The Girlguiding Birk Crag Centre is Girl Guiding North Yorkshire West’s Training, Activity and Residential Centre, situated on the edge of Harrogate on Cornwall Road. The old Centre was an outdated pre-fabricated building which had been extremely well used over the last 50 years. Despite ongoing maintenance the building was simply no longer fit for purpose and needed to be replaced. Therefore, the old building was demolished in 2018 and a new Centre is being built. The new Centre will be fully accessible and will include a large hall seating a maximum of 120 which will be able to be divided into 2 rooms, an activity room, meeting room (for community use), dining room, small lounge, kitchen, 12 bedrooms providing residential accommodation for 40 people. This application is to support the provision of kitchen equipment in the meeting rooms that are available for local community use.
