Bishops Knoll, Bristol – Unveiling Bristol’s Secret Garden

Restore a 19th Century Victorian Community Garden & Arboretum in Bristol to a good structural state/condition in order to meet key recommendations of the 2017 Survey and Condition report.
Ensure that the site is safe & accessible for the general public (some areas are currently closed to the public) and the historic Victorian features of the garden have been preserved.
Support the ‘Friends of Bishop Knoll’ a group of volunteers as they see their vision for the garden materialise. They’ll continue to support with ongoing repairs, maintenance as well as leading walks and giving historic talks. We’ll also work with them to decide on the future vision for the garden.
Strengthen the condition of the arboretum via tree planting – this will take place at the end of the project, acting as an end of project celebration & generating PR to raise the public profile of the site.
Increase the community awareness of the site.
Provide value for money – much of the work has been undertaken by volunteers
