Bitton Station Heating Upgrade, Avon Valley Railway Heritage Trust, Bitton, South Glos

This is a project to reduce the efficiency and carbon footprint of Bitton Railway Station, by replacing a varied selection of expensive, inefficient electric heaters, with an environmentally friendly air to air heat pump heating system. This will be aided by installing secondary glazing to the 1869 station building. These changes will improve the working environment of the applicant’s volunteer helpers and staff, and the comfort of the station’s numerous visitors. Avon Valley Railway Heritage Trust is a charity established in 1974 to restore, preserve, exhibit and operate railway locomotives, carriages, wagons, vehicles and other artefacts of historical interest and the buildings connected therewith for the benefit and education of the public.
