Black barn door project

The Black Barn on Woodoaks Farm is looking to celebrate the heritage of the farm and turn it into the vibrant hub for the community. The Farm is now owned by the Soil Association Charity. Replacement doors are needed for the 16th century barn which is to be restored as part of a the plan to celebrate the heritage of the farm and make it the hub of the community once more. The Grade II listed Black Barn was originally built in the C16th. The barn was part of the original farm buildings and is clearly marked on the 1760 map. It is an iconic landmark making a significant contribution to the local character and distinctiveness to the wider community with many of the older generation remembering its use as a place for community events and barn dances. It is also used by bats and owls and we wish to continue to provide shelter and homes for them.
