Blackness Environmental Enhancement Project

Creation of sustainable green space, improving biodiversity and amenity, an outcome defined in local area plan for Blackness. Renewal of play area with provision of play equipment. Restoration , enhancement and creation of boudary features, standing water and meadows. Five year plan introduced to incorporate elements of Falkirk Bio-diversity Action Plan, Local Area Plan, areas of SSSI designation and community issues. Awareness will be improved by introducing information panels.
The improvement of access routes, creation of picnic area and the building of a bird-hide.
Planting of 360m of wildlife hedge with range of species, predominately Hathorn and Blackthorn. All trees planted will be of native origin.
