Blackpool - Equipment to Maintain New Pitch for Young Disabled & Girls

The project aims to create a new playing surface on the existing grass area at the site. This development will enable the expansion of rugby provision for disabled players, girls, and mini-juniors. A report commissioned from the Grounds Management Association identified that substantial long-term maintenance is required for the pitch, which necessitates specialist equipment including a fertiliser spreader, deep slitter, compact tractor, and turf grooming tool.
A grant of £16,068 has been secured from the Football Foundation, covering 75% of the equipment cost. However, an additional £5,355 is required to meet the full cost. The project seeks £3,000 to help address this shortfall.
The value of the project lies in its contribution to the community by promoting inclusivity and participation in sport across diverse groups, including disabled players and young people. Furthermore, the improved playing surface will enhance the sustainability and quality of the environment by ensuring proper maintenance and longevity of the facility.
