Blands Recreation Playground Refurbishment

Blands was a well used facility for non organised play / recreation. The area attracted a diverse cross section of the local community. The facility, constructed over 15 years ago, has proven to be a well used and sustainable site. However, it is now looking dated and the play equipment has suffered irreparable damage through overuse. Funds sought to refurbish the site and bring up to standard to ensure it adheres to curent legislation / requirements regarding fixed play facilities (BS EN standards, disability discrimination act (DDA) etc. Project involves replacing existing play equipment with new, safer surfacing, street furniture, fencing and moderate planting.
