Blyth Town Football Club

In April 2006 the club received a grant of £575,000 from the Football Foundation. This was matched with £318,000 from the local council’s development fund and £20,000 of club money (Total £913,000). This money was to refurbish and extend the facility and grounds, making the building almost 4 times the size of the original club, and the playing area more than double.
At the end of the works the club will have 5 adult ptiches, 3 mini soccer pitches and 2 youth pitches as well as a multi-use games area which will be floodlit and contain a rubberised surface for practices.
The grants given to date did not cover items such as furniture, equipping the kitchen, new goalposts etc. The most urgent expenditure would be towards the goal posts, tables and chairs and storage containers
