Bog Wood

Bog Wood is a 2.83 hectare site of mature broadleaved secondary woodland located in the heart of the Sandymoor Valley in Runcorn.
The networks of bridges installed in the 1970s by the RDC are in urgent need of repair to enable continued access to the woodland. A structural survey is required on all bridges with the view to making detailed recommendation on the possibililties for repair.
Following this the Trust will then carry out work to these bridges identified as most in need of urgent repair. In addition to the bridges repair works we intend to carry out a number of path cuts and some essential litter clearance. This will improve access by opening up the pathways, make the site more welcoming to visitors and encourage the local community to use this invaluable source
