Bolingbroke Castle Moat Restoration

The Trust is currently undertaking a WREN Communities Fund financed project to restore the moat at Bolingbroke Castle by removing accumulated silt and vegetation. Since the project design and WREN funding award it has become necessary to include the installation of temporary ground protection to prevent damage to a vulnerable area of the site while the excavated silt is being transported. The purpose of the ground protection is to protect the ground and the underlying archaeology and ensure that public access to the area is not compromised by the effects of the work.
