Bolton and Bury Canal Connections

The aim of this project is to improve the environs of the Manchester, Bolton and Bury Canal (MBB) as it runs between Radcliffe in Bury and Little Lever in Bolton. This will create a much improved recreational resource and wildlife corridor for local people to enjoy and value. This will be done by clearing existing overgrown vegetation which can at times restrict access; upgrading pathway materials to create a more accessible waterway; erecting new signage and interpretation to encourage greater use and understanding of the canal; vegetation removal from the channel of the canal to expose the water; restoration of Grade 2 listed steam crane.
