Bonehead ditch pollarding

The Bonehead is offshoot of the River Colne that runs along the eastern edge of Staines Moor. Staines is a SSSI. This project will pollard willow which is overshading the bonehead ditch and preventing light from getting to the water. This will allow for aquatic flora to flourish and improve the entire eco system of the Bonehead Ditch. In addition we will put up a barn owl box and “label” the stream so that people can relate to the river system as they cross over the small pedestrian bridge.
