Projects / Bootle Vestry Roof Repairs

Bootle Vestry Roof Repairs

The project aims to complete an eight-year programme of fabric repairs in preparation for planned internal alteration, which will enable wider community use of the building. The church is a Grade 2 Listed building with a chancel that is believed to date to Norman times. The rest of the building is of Victorian construction. This project focuses on the vestry, which has a pitched. slate roof in dire need of repair. The intention, once the structural work is complete, is to commence work to install toilet and kitchen facilities and to screen off the north transept from the nave, in order to create opportunities for community use.
