Projects / Bottoms Mill Phase 01

Bottoms Mill Phase 01

The aims of the project are to protect and secure the mill pond wall and the riverside/mill race path to ensure these paths are accessible.

The introduction of a hard wearing surface will significantly improve the appearance of the space and will reinforce the use of the waterside paths. Refurbishment of the bridge rails and maintenance of the Water Lane access will improve the appearance and gateway to this popular open space.

Repairs to the footpaths adjacent to drainage ditches on the eastern side will improve general reliability and safety of the paths in wet conditions through the introduction of large stepping stone access across these ‘ditches’.

Volunteers will assist with path clearance, laying of paths, painting of bridge rails, clearance of brambles through the leadership of the River Steward will also be responsible for coordination and further treatment of invasive species along this river section.
