Bouncing Back

The forum has been working with the community on improving Milnshaw park since 2013. The Park is situated between 2 very deprived wards (Central and Milnshaw) and serves a population of 9,412 people of which 2,813 are under the age of 18 years.
This project will transform 3,547 sq meters of derelict under used, public space within this public park. Because the park currently has no facilities for local young people, and the area is run down it has become a no go area within the general community and an area of high antisocial behaviour, graffiti and vandalism.
By building a sporting facility where young people can go for free and let of steam in a productive way. The area becomes more aesthetically pleasing and will be visited by more members of the community. Stage two of the project following construction will include, Sports coaching and family fun days provided by LCC sports outreach
