Bowling Project

Local Bowling Club has effectively folded. Gales of three years past caused huge structural damage.
Lack of sufficient insurance cover by then management committee closed Club house and facilities. No club house meaning no bar, meaning those only interested in the ‘social’ side dropped out. Playing Membership dropped off such that bowling, as a sport/recreation was reduced to elderly and youth/children – reduced rates and free, respectively.
Other than voluntary grass cutting nothing has been done to keep facility and Club together. Green now requires urgent professional attention, to bring it back to playable conditions, if bowling is to continue.

Route into Club grounds is a 50 metre pathway, 1.5 metres wide, built up from soil by slabs on 24” profile, covered in tar. Now so broken up and weeded it does not allow for such as prams/disabled units. Needs bottoming and resurfacing.
