Bowring Park Gardens Restoration Project, Bowring Park Trust, supported by Knowsley MBC

Bowring Park was gifted to ‘the people of Liverpool’ in 1906. The Park boasts open parkland, buildings, a golf course and historic formal gardens. In the years since this gifting, the historic gardens have fallen into dereliction, being little used currently, except as a ‘dog run’ and subject to anti-social activity/youth congregation. It is proposed to restore the gardens to their former glory, also developing them as a hub for social benefit, generating volunteering, training, education, healthy living, food growing and social cohesion through facilitated participation in individual and group activities. This will, in-turn, help long-term to sustainably maintain the gardens.
