Bradford on Avon Bowls and Croquet Club - Insulation and Heating

The Clubhouse is a wooden building which is un-insulated, thereforeso cold in winter and hot in summer. Because of this it is unattractive as a venue for the large number of community societies and activities in the Bradford on Avon area and as a result is a seriously under-used community asset.

To resolve this we propose to The Club will insulate the roof and walls and install heating.

This will create a comfortable Club House building which will be suitable for greater community use all year round, being considerably warmer in winter whilst the

The insulation will also reduce the excessive heat build-up in the building on some summer days.
Increased use of the Club House all year round, maximising its value as a community asset which will help to increase society cohesion and reduce loneliness and exclusion amongst the community. The venue will be actively advertised to ensure its benefits are available to all.
The insulation will reduce energy consumption and contribute to green gas reduction.
By offering more activities in BoA residents will not need to travel to enjoy them. This has been proved to be the case with adding Croquet to the sport offering. Fewer people travel to Bath for example.
There is potential to offer social activities to combat loneliness and social isolation in a comfortable environment.
