Brangy Dip, Bury – Access to Nature Footpath (006255)

The project is to install a footpath between Brandlesholme Road and Tottington Road which is divided by canal feeder ponds and the River Goit meaning that this footpath is a key link between two busy main roads. The area is overgrown with an uneven and potentially dangerous footpath making it unsafe for the less able and pushchairs. Littering and youth nuisance have also started to become a concern.

For residents in the area this pathway is the only way to avoid a long walk along busy roads. By improving the pathway there is huge potential to offer a pleasant and safe walking route which passes alongside a memorial garden, woodland, ponds, reservoir, Woodhill Brook and the River Goit, from which local residents can enjoy the local countryside and local bird-life.
