Brasshouse Community Centre, Birmingham – Community Garden (40110/D)

The aim of the project is to transform the Brasshouse Centre, creating a sustainable community hub as a catalyst for positive social, environmental and economic change. Local people will have access to a significantly wider range of community services and activities empowering them to improve their life chances. Adding a community garden and community growing element will add real value bringing additional benefits for the local community. Improving health and well being is a key element in our work and the community garden project will further develop our work helping us develop understanding about the direct link between food and health. Creating the community outdoor space will consist of construction costs (creating the garden including raised vegetable beds), removal of contaminated materials, soft landscaping, some fencing around the perimeter. The raised beds will ensure access for all users and pathways in between wide enough to ensure access for all.
