Brassington, Bradbourne & Hognaston RBL, Matlock - Refurbishment (5726/D)

The Trust grant will contribute towards the repair to the floor. The project aims to address an urgent need to replace the flooring, replace double glazed windows, and install a central heating system. Since 2004 attempts have been made to solve serious damp problems beneath the floor by patching where necessary but a permanent solution is now required. The safety of persons using the building is at risk. The project intends to take up floor decking, remove floor joists, excavate externally to ground around air bricks, excavate the earth floor to 150mm below steel beam, lay 100mm concrete base floor area and include visqueen membrane, provide and fix treated timber joists, insert celtex insulation between joists, provide and fix t&g weyroc boarding.
