Bridging the Brook at Willington Wetlands

We want to improve and upgrade visitor access at our Willington Wetlands Nature Reserve. Purchased by DWT in 2005, it is a thriving 44Ha nature reserve, renowned as an attraction both locally and nationally, enabling visitors to see a wide variety of wildlife.

We will create 250m of new path and install a multi-user bridge over the boundary brook to link 2 halves of a broken bridleway so completing a 5mile circular loop allowing local residents and all visitors unhindered access to the surrounding countryside for the first time in over 20 years. We will upgrade existing viewing platforms for disabled access, build a new one, install signage and way marker posts to guide visitors and provide benches.
