Brookhaven Guild Garden

The aims of the project is firstly to design a community feature which leaves a legacy to celebrate Preston Guild 2012. Secondly to provide a pleasant open space designed to encourage local people to come out to socialise with other people whether it be for a chat or to take part in a social activity organised by the local Community Group. Local residents plan to use the community garden for garden parties, outdoor church services in Summer, coffee mornings (moving outside in nice weather), strawberry teas, bring & buy sales, Preston Guild celebration events, barbeques and local community meetings. Residents will also be able to use the space for their own ad-hoc events. The garden will create a space for residents to sit out to enjoy some fresh air whilst combating isolation via socialising at the same time.
