Broomhill Flash Wings Across the Ings

This project is part of the Dearne Valley Green Heart Nature Improvement Area which aims to improve landscapes for people and nature through restoring, expanding and joining up wildlife rich areas. Broomhill Flash is one of the key local wildlife havens (60 acre meadows and wetland) contributing to the importance of this NIA as a whole. The reserve is to be developed to unlock a hidden gem for locals and visitors to access and appreciate the site and its wildlife. This ambitious project will provide new tracks and link trails, waymarking and lateral hedge planting. Existing paths will be upgraded and repaired and three new panoramic viewpoints will be created.
There will be a conservation volunteering programme to facilitate local involvement in the practical delivery of the projects landscape and habitat creation, restoration and ongoing management.
