Broughton Community Meadow

To enhance an area of waste land known locally as “Top Pitch” into a community meadow. Enabling school children, youth groups and community groups year round access to learn about the environment. Informal footpaths will lead through the wildflower areas, and new shrubs and trees will provide additional habitats for wildlife. Benches and interpretation boards will provide opportunties to learn, and a new fence and gate will keep dogs from fouling the area. The Local Environment Working Group will utilise the area for training events, practical conservation and volunteering development across the community encouraging shared ownership and achievement
