Brownsea: Lagoon Project

The aim of the project is to enhance the biodiversity value and long- term viability of the Brownsea Lagoon at Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour, Dorset. The project will carry out a variety of works to improve the value of the lagoon habitat to a wide range of species. These works consist of practical improvements such as erosion control measures for the gravel islands which are valuable bird breeding sites and installing a new water level control system. In addition to the practical works the project will also design and initiate effective monitoring system for bird species and populations and influencing factors such as salinity.
