Bucklesham Village Play Area Phase 2

This project is to replace the worn-out play equipment on the village Playing Field, specifically Phase Two of the project to provide a Trim Trail, Cone Climber and Inclusive Ship. Phase Two is a standalone project but is part of a larger scheme, with Phase 1 already underway and fundraising ongoing for Phase 3.

The Playing Field is a large area of approximately 5 acres, managed by the Parish Council for the enjoyment of the whole community. They have recently planted a woodland walkway around the edge of the Field with a variety of trees and hedgerow which has encouraged nature and wildlife. There are two beautiful picnic areas on the Field, and several Friendship Benches which all allow friends and families to meet sociably outdoors. There are newly constructed bike jumps which were requested by village children, with the materials provided free of charge by local aggregate businesses and constructed by volunteers. A large football pitch and goals, along with two table tennis tables, provide sporting facilities.

The existing play equipment has been in place for 21 years and is tired and worn. A recent RoSPA inspection showed that many pieces are in need of removal and replacement as a matter of urgency. The project will provide the community with new play equipment, suitable for all ages and abilities, which will improve fitness, encourage socialising, and help families get together, completing the rejuvination of the Playing Field.
