Budworth Mere Bird Hide – Marbury Country Park

A bird hide overlooking the Coward Reed bed at Budworth Mere was constructed around 25 years ago and has proved to be very popular with visitors, as it provides an opportunity for visitors to view the elusive bitterns which over-winter in the reed bed opposite. The hide is open to the public 24 hours/day and 365 days/year. The hide has lasted very well but had reached the end of its useful life, so the project will build a new timber structure that will retain the historic view of the Mere whilst providing a facility for birdwatchers.
