Buglife Regional Bumblebee Survey – Essex

Over last two decades, populations of bumblebees have seriously declined, which is likely to have serious implications since they are important pollinators of flowers, fruit trees and crops. This project is a survey involving members of the public who will work alongside bee experts learning surveying techniques which will enable them to identify certain types of bee and establish numbers. Data collected will be fed into national databases to help provide updated distribution maps and other important data. Buglife will also visit schools and attend local events to promote the survey.
