‘Build’ Exhibit

The project will develop a module within the River Gallery, exploring the story of the challenge of human settlement along the Thames from early signs of human habitation to iconic bridges and buildings. It will include a ‘Sacred Thames’ display, looking at objects used as offerings to the river and our Saxon and Medieval log boats, which all illustrate evidence of human settlement. The new section will provide a stimulus for discussion and debate around environmental issues including landfill and infrastructure such as sewers. It will build upon and introduce further formal and informal river focussed learning opportunities, tying into the National Curriculum and attract and engage new audiences.
