Building Capacity and enhancing resilience – Sea2It Marine and Freshwater Litter Cleanups

Sea2it proposes doubling volunteer capacity to tackle freshwater and marine litter affecting the Bann Estuary Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and Skerries and Causeway Marine SAC, including Bann Estuary Area of Special Scientific Interest (ASSI), Portrush West Strand ASSI, Ramore Head and Skerries ASSI, Whiterocks ASSI, Portballintrae ASSI, Runkerry ASSI and Giant’s Causeway and Dunseverick ASSI, including Giant’s Causeway and Causeway Coast World Heritage Site.

To achieve this Sea2it proposes purchasing:

1. New Whaly 500 doubled walled workboat rated CE for 12 persons (100% recyclable) with 50hp engine, PPE storage box with road trailer for transport to sites
2. New Whaly 270 safety boat rated (100% recyclable) (no engine required)
3. New 8ft x 5ft high sided trailer with cribs for collection, disposal and recycling of litter
