The objective of the project is to enhance the attractiveness of the farm to bumblebees. The project will demonstrate what can be done to encourage bumblebees and act as a demonstration site for schools and other groups.
The work will include planting four areas of wildflower seed mixes covering a total of 0.85 hectares to provide nectar sources for bumblebees; carrying out planting of 200 early flowering shrubs that are important to emerging bumblebee queens and planting 250 metres of hedge to create micro climates suitable for inverterates and improve habitat connectivity for wildlife
