Burgess Park Lane Biodiversity Project

Physical changes will be undertaken to improve the biodiversity of Burgess Park Lake; activities will be delivered to engage the community in the process.
Works to be undertaken through this project include the provision of islands on the lake, planting of 2544 ha of reedbeds, planting Black Poplar, habitat creation for Bats, Bumble Bee, Grey Heron, Reed Bunting, and Stag Beetle, removal of concrete pathways at the edge of the lake and introduction of marginal planting, improvement of water quality through improved aeration, creation of a borehole, and installation of a SUDs system.
