Burghill Tillington & Weobley Cricket Club – Cricket Square Renovation

Burghill Tillington & Weobley Cricket Club is a CASC, English Cricket Board (ECB) affiliated, and accredited with the Clubmark award. They have three mixed senior and four mixed junior teams and a girls’ team. Last year they won the Community Cricket Club of the year award and over the years numerous senior and junior league and cup titles and Fair Play awards. The fair play awards emphasise the strong ethos of playing cricket within the spirit of the game. They have offer opportunities for nearly 100 children, many of them girls. They have 75 adult playing members and over 250 social members. The extensive use of the ground has taken a toll on the square. Years of renovating the wicket ends have meant ledges and hollows on the wickets creating uneven bounce and at times it has become unsafe when a quick bowler is operating. This project will renovate the playing surface to ensure a usable and safe playing area
