Burkinshaw's Covert

Works to provide access to the northern and western parts of Burkinshaw's Covert to enable the continued conversion of non-native plantation at the site into lowland, mixed deciduous woodland, a priority habitat in the UK biodiversity action plan. In particular, the proposal will also seek to conserve bat species including UK BAP species and notably the woodland species noctule known to occur locally in adjacent woodlands.
