BURRATOR HISTORIC & NATURAL ENVIRONMENT PROJECT – ARBORETUM

Burrator Arboretum plays a key role in our overall project aims; it is a safe accessible area at the reservoir to provide a variety of outdoor learning opportunities. The Arboretum has a range of habitats including ponds, woodland and marshy grassland. Created in 1987 it is popular with many visitors; however paths are now becoming extremely worn deeming many areas inaccessible to less able visitors and families.

This element of the project will see vast improvements to the main path through the arboretum by restoring footpaths and boardwalks allowing visitors to explore, enjoy and learn about the reservoir, various habitats, wildlife and the history of this special corner of Dartmoor.
