Burscough Community Farm Woodland

Planting approx 2,000 trees to create a community woodland (a mixture of quick and slow growing trees) to improve the landscape, create natural habitats, and encourage biodiversity. The woodland will be available to the community to access and use, and volunteers will learn how to grow organic food, woodcrafts, woodland maintenance & sustainability skills. The woodland will be coppiced and the harvested wood will be used produced charcoal and mulch. The mulch will be used to enrich the soil and the charcoal used to generate income, making the project both environmentally and economically sustainable.
