Bustard Green Grazing Project

Bustard Green represents a significant area of Lowland meadow and accessible natural greenspace, but as a result of the cessation of grazing it has become overgrown. This project aims to restore the UK BAP Lowland meadow and surrounding UK BAP Ancient and/or species-rich hedgerows, through working with the local community to undertake initial capital work, e.g. removal of scrub and purchase of essential grazing equipment such as drinking troughs and temporary fencing, with the goal of restoring traditional grazing to the site. It will also, through the work of the Local Wildlife Sites Project, develop a management plan with the local community, and provide ongoing habitat management advice to ensure the Local Wildlife Site is managed sustainably in the future.
