Buzz Lockleaze

The development of the Buzz growing garden will create an aesthetically pleasing outdoor space for local people to come, socialise, learn, build skills and access support. Lockleaze is a food desert in which we will grow food and vegetable and herbs for the local community and run sessions on urban farming both addressing local health needs and making the local environment more pleasant and educational. We will plant flowers to attract local wildlife (including bees!), build a bug hotel and employ permaculture systems. Over August we worked with the Avon Wildlife Trust to build 2 planters for the Buzz forecourt and we have had a fantastic positive response from the community, and an increase in community participation in Buzz activities. The development of the Buzz garden would build on the momentum of this community led development of a local community asset.
