BWERC, Small Heath – Community room refurbishment

This project is about renovating the roof and replacing some windows and window sills at Bangladesh Women’s Association (BWA) which are in urgent need of repair.
BWA community centre has four good sized rooms upstairs, but it is not possible to use room number 4 which has a flat roof and has been damaged by the rain. This multi-purpose room was used over the years for computer training, sewing classes, Bengali language lessons and also community events. At the moment it is not possible to provide any activities in this room or hire out to the wider community without replacing the roof. This grant is intended to repair the flat roof, corridor roof and replace some old windows and window sills. Replacing some of the windows and window sills will allow to save more energy and make the rooms warmer for the service users.
