Callister Gardens, Merseyside - Creating a Community Pavilion (007809)

The project is to build a small, sustainably designed indoor space to maximise the use of the Callister Garden for the community. The building will be known as ‘the Pavilion’. The Pavilion will provide an indoor space including modern toilet facilities with disabled access, a kitchen area for the provision of refreshments and a warm, dry activity room available for use by community organisations and volunteers. The Pavilion will enable the Garden to be used all the year round and will encourage more volunteers to get involved. The materials for construction have been selected to minimise the embodied carbon and to maximise the potential for sustainable production and recycling.
