Cambridge Botanic Garden Temperate House Project

The Temperate House will be re-designed to showcase the botanically – rich but gravely- threatened floras of Australia and South Africa. Visitor access to these revitalised landscapes will be improved; new interpretation will explore the importance of biodiversity and inspire public understanding of the urgent need to conserve delicate ecosystems and natural habitats.
The Botanic Garden, with its plant collections of over 8000 species from all around the world, is uniquely able in the Eastern Region to deliver messages about biodiversity and conservation through stunning and informative displays. For example, in 2004, the Botanic Garden completed a renovation of the complex wild flora around Cambridge, and demonstrate the threats to and opportunities for its conservation.
