Cambridge Road Methodist Church, Kings Heath Birmingham – Community Facility Renovation (40416/D/TP)

The project aim is to Increase community provision by relocation and renewal of centrally sited kitchen & toilets to the side in order to open up the space to accommodate a new foyer/ community cafe area with the toilets moved to one side and the kitchen and servery to the other. This will release space and allow light from the newly glazed entrance and lobby to permeate into the body of the church through a second glazed dividing wall. A feeling of light and space will be created throughout and will enable the cafe/foyer to be used for additional community activities. The kitchen and toilets will be upgraded for better efficiency and greater user-appeal, new heating and lighting will be vastly more effective and efficient, heat retention will be improved and the whole building will be life-extended through greater usability.
