Camley Street Natural Park Boardwalk

Camley Street Natural Park is managed by London Wildlife Trust and a designated Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation in King’s Cross.

A boardwalk connects the nature reserve to a floating viewpoint on the Regent’s Canal. The boardwalk needs replacing because the weather in recent years has taken its toll. We have regularly made repairs to keep the boardwalk safe, however, it will eventually become beyond repair and may need to be closed to the public.

Camley Street Natural Park welcomes over 140,000 visitors annually. We need to improve the boardwalk to provide better access to this part of the site and accommodate the large numbers of visitors.

LWT intend to use recycled plastic wood-substitute for the replacement which won’t rot. The
Environment Agency consider this a low-carbon product, as it is otherwise a waste material
