Capital Refurbishments of the Community Centre, St Werburghs Community Centre, Bristol

St Werburghs Community Centre is a well-used and much-loved community hub in East Bristol and occupies a former Victorian school. The applicant engaged GCP Architects to carry out a survey of the condition of the building, identify areas that need improvements internally and externally and devise a plan of priorities. The applicant is seeking funding towards repairs to eight decorative wooden towers and the Bell Tower topping the building’s pitched roofs, which are in a desperate state of repair, as well as improvements to accessibility, including a ramp to the garden and fitting leveling strips between entrance corridors and the main lobby.
