Carbon Challenge 2023

The 1973 Pavilion building was built in a time of cheap energy. Little thought went into insulation and energy conservation. The building systems now need to be upgraded to reduce carbon emissions, improve insulation, safety, energy costs. The electrical installation, some glazing and external doors need to be replaced with energy saving alternatives. The building has no cavity wall insulation. Disability access needs to be improved.

The funds will be expended through the Carbon Challenge 2023 project plan. We hope to achieve all the improvements by the Pavilion’s May 2023 50th opening anniversary. The plan includes phased work with priority items funded from this grant, if successful.
